ISTE

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) stands as the premier national non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the Technical Education System in our country. With a core focus on the career development of teachers, the personality enhancement of students, and the holistic progress of our technical education, ISTE plays a pivotal role in various initiatives of the Union Government. As the sole national body representing educators in the realm of Engineering and Technology, ISTE makes substantial contributions to the overarching goals of technical education.

ISTE operates through an Executive Council at the national level, boasting a robust foundation in technical education institutions across the nation. Its considerable strength is evidenced by an active membership exceeding 128,500 technical teachers, 535,000 student members, over 2,740 institutional members (encompassing prestigious institutions such as IITs, IISc., NITs, and other leading technical establishments), 1,414 faculty chapters, and 1,505 students’ chapters at the national level. Additionally, it maintains a presence through 19 Sections at the State Level.

The primary objective of ISTE is to deliver high-quality training programs to teachers and administrators in technical institutions. These programs aim to enhance their knowledge and skills within their respective fields and contribute to the cultivation of proficient engineers and technicians, meeting the stringent requirements of the industry and other organizations. In essence, ISTE plays a crucial role in shaping the landscape of technical education in our nation.
