Dr. Sumati D. Surwase obtained M.A. (English) degree from Fergusson College, Pune in 2011. She qualified both the SET and NET examinations in 2013 and completed M.Phil. degree from Pune University in 2014. She has been awarded Ph.D. (English) degree by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, in 2021. She has almost 10 years of teaching experience. She teaches English language, Literature, Soft Skills, and Communication Skills. At present she is working as an Associate Professor in H&S Department, MREM. Her academic interest encompasses Linguistics, Pragmatics, English language and Literature, as well as Research and Development. Dr. Sumati has actively participated and presented research papers at various national and international conferences. She also worked as an Academic Councillor at IGNOU Center, Pune during 2013–2016. She received the ‘Best Teacher Award’ at Z.V.M. Unani Medical College, Pune, in 2016. She firmly believes that education must adhere to a moral and skill-based approach, as it plays a major role in the transformation of an individual.
