INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)

ABOUT THE IQAC: The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution. Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activates of the institution. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education. Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotions of quality circles. Documentation of the various programme/activities leading to quality improvement.

THE ROLE OF THE COORDINATOR: The role of the coordinator of the IQAC is crucial in ensuring the effective functioning of all the members. The coordinator of the IQAC may be a senior/competent person with experience and exposure in quality aspects. She/he may be a full-time functionary or, to start with, she/he may be a senior academic /administrator entrusted with the IQAC as an additional responsibility. Secretarial assistance may be facilitated by the administration. It is essential that the coordinator may have sound knowledge about the computer, data management and its various functions such as usage for effective communication.

QUALITY POLICY:

  1. To emphasize & inculcate a quality culture with responsive, reliable and transparent efforts through a combination of self and external quality evaluation
  2. To fulfil the vision and mission of the institute in the light of its quality policy.
  3. To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic performance of institution.
  4. To promote quality culture and implementation of best practices.
  5. To implement sustainable Quality Management System to enhance Quality in Education.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To develop an eco-system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • The relevance and quality of Academic and Research activities.
  • Equitable access to and affordability of academic programs for various sections of Society.
  • Integration of modern methods of teaching and learning practices.
  • Sharing and networking knowledge potential with other institutions in India and Abroad.

FUNCTIONS:

Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are:

  1. Documentation of the various Programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  2. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;
  3. Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality.
  4. Development of Quality Culture in the institution;
  5. Conduct of quality audit and Academic Audit of departments Preparation and accreditation NBA/NAAC.
